The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) has a long-standing tradition of being the go-to source for IT Service Management related 'best practice' information. However, the best practice  guidance is generally embedded in the main commentaries and not easily referencible.

The purpose of the ITIL Best Practice Statement (ITIL BPS) Library is to provide a detailed and easy to reference analysis of the 'best practices' found within ITIL.   The service categorizes best practice 'statements' by source, subject and applicability and represents the opinion of Service Management 101

The ITIL BPS is an element of the 'itil body of knowledge (itilBOK)' and  should not be regarded as an official ITIL source.  The official ITIL website may be accessed here.  

Access to the complete library requires an annual membership to this site.  A sample subset of the Library and full access to the complete ITIL Glossary is available to registered guests.
